Welcome health directors and other interested individuals. We’re delighted that you’ve shown an interest. The SCC Health Ministries Department is designed to promote and equip the church to achieve total wellness and, encourage and assist in implementing community health events. Below are three (3) core health principles we’ve been inspired to enhance or initiate.

Health Education: The foundation of health education must be based on God’s word for true success! “Those who would be successful in proclaiming the principles of health reform must make the word of God their guide and counselor” CDF p208. The primary focus will be instruction on presenting cooking classes, multimedia presentations, health fairs and coordinating the “Abundant Living Series” on a professional level.

Health Evangelism: Christ gave clear instructions to His disciples concerning their evangelical work. “Jesus called the twelve together…cure diseases, preach the kingdom of God and heal the sick.”Luke 9:1-2. Therefore, our desire is to emulate Christ’s counsel by assisting churches in incorporating specific health events in conjunction with the gospel ministry. “The health message gives opportunity for carrying forward successful evangelistic work.” EV p516

Health Retreat: Christ said to His disciples, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” Mark 6:31. An annual health retreat amidst the pleasant surroundings of nature will create an optimum environment for rest and learning for those who need specific health challenges reversed. Furthermore, this will also provide a weekend of training for health directors and staff, offering practical tools that are culturally sensitive for our target audience.
