Our youngest campers are seeing green. No, they’re not raking in the money. They’re also not green with envy… they are going green for Jesus. The theme for the 4 year old to 8th grade campers at the 2010 South Central Conference Camp Meeting is "Step Up and Go Green For Jesus" It’s a theme that is being repeated in songs, lessons, and pictures.

Sabbath in Wade Hall Chapel everyone from 4 years of age to 4th grade learned a musical way to recall what happened on each day of creation. The 220 children (and some parents) in attendance were treated to songs, videos and stories about the creation week and keeping the earth clean.

Sunday evening in Wade Hall Chapel, a slightly smaller group of 102 students and parents continued their earth friendly lessons. The main lesson – reduce, re-use, recycle. Their challenge for Monday was to find and bring as much plastic to the Monday night meeting. The group that collected the most plastic will be named the winning team.

Assisted by a dozen teens, Children’s Ministries Director, Brenda Harrigan will have all of the youngest members of South Central Conference "Green For Jesus" in no time.
