Story:
Elder Dana C. Edmond, President, South Central Conference (SCC), launches a historical first. On Tuesday, November 3, 2009, presidents and their wives—first ladies, past and present who reside within the South Central territory where invited to a special Presidents’ Reception. This event was held at the President’s Dinning Room, Business and Technology Building, Oakwood University, Huntsville, Alabama. There were a total of 23 participants.
 
Edmond stated that there was over 500 years of ministerial experience represented in the room. It was turned into a didactic right of passage experience when President Edmond consulted with over 500 years of wisdom as he embarked upon his new presidency. These men shared useful and helpful tips from a presidential pool of knowledge and their personal experiences as church leaders.
 
There was a since of awe and respect when viewing the scene. Gathered there were people, ordinary men and women, who had been called to greatness. Present were individuals who shaped this church (and still shaping) significantly. They spilled their blood as it were serving God, his people, and the church locally and from points around the world-to God be the glory.
